I posted on the LSB a while back, with great excitement! My eldest son (the English major) just told me yesterday that he would like one, too :-).

I can't wait for the first in Jan Karon's, Fr.Tim series! I have read her Mitford series a few times and get lost in the world of Mitford each time. Thank you so much for posting about The Intellectual Devotional: American History book. My son and I are enjoying the general one this summer and will add the American History book to our American History studies for next year when it comes out.

Kathleen, I first heard about the LSB from you! And I just found that it was up at Amazon. Can't wait!

Barb, yeah, I can't wait either for those Father Tim books. I was so sad to see the Mitford series end. And I, too, get lost in Mitford every time. On one beach trip, my sister and I listened to the Focus on the Family Radio Theatre version of At Home in Mitford, though we'd both read it before, and we were completely mesmerized. It is a wonderful audio even though it's abridged.

And Diane, I think The Intellectual Devotional: American History will be very easy to use in the classroom. I'm thinking writing prompts and summary work after listening to it orally. ONE WEEK!!! Of course, your fun starts earlier! Hee, hee, hee!

I have enjoyed reading through your blog and when I came to the news about the new Jan Karon book, my ears really perked up! How I enjoy those Mitford books and feel like the characters are practically friends. I've been eagerly awaiting the new Father Tim series, your blog is the first notice I've seen about it - can hardly wait! Will you tell me a little about the reading challenge? I think I'd like to join the next one.
