Do you want to help?

Last week, I decided to develop a student's creed. I've decided to base it on The Soldier's Creed that frequently rolls out of my dd mouth. I realized what camaraderie and focus the creed has on soldiers. You know, if you say something long enough, you begin to embrace it. Kind of like those pep rally chants!

So, here's The Soldier's Creed with the parts I want to change underlined. I'm open to lengthening this also. I had thought about using the Apostle's Creed, but we will be memorizing it elsewhere.

Have a go, even if it's only a phrase.Be creative! I promise to post the final one! Remember that this is a Christian school transitioning to classical.

The Student's Creed

I am an American Soldier. (reserved for our school name)
I am a Warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values.

I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.

I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.

I will always thirst for knowledge.
I will never stop learning.
I will never stop asking questions.
I will never stop thinking.
