I like particular details in this painting

I like the wrinkled inner sleeve of his jacket. 

I like the position of his hand across his chest suggesting that his writing is thoughtful.   
Could he be writing a note of apology?

I like his flushed cheek of fair skin.

I like the papers and books stuffed into his book leather book bag.

I like the muted almost-monotone colors
